Brackets in effect from January 2024. The Tax Authority updates them; check the current figures on gov.il.
Purchase tax is charged in brackets: each part of the price is taxed at the rate of its bracket, and the results are added up.
A buyer of a single home (their only residential property) pays no tax on the first bracket. Buyers of an additional apartment pay 8% from the first shekel, and 10% above the top bracket.
There are exemptions and special cases (new immigrants, people with disabilities, selling the old home within the set period, and more). Check your case with a lawyer.
Results are estimates for planning only and are not financial, tax or legal advice. Check the figures with a professional before you decide.
